A List of Goth Fashion Blogs of Note

We’ve compiled a list of goth fashion blogs of note. One of the main subcultures we cover at Auxiliary is goth. Sure that’s pretty clear! We do maintain an open mind about what is goth and create content for the magazine with the idea that everyone has a different opinion on the matter. With that being said, these fashion and style blogs mostly fit within goth and surrounding subcultures, styles, and aesthetics. We hope it can serve as a reference point, a place to find some new content to enjoy, a place to highlight those who are creating, and even a starting point for those looking to dig deeper into the scene.

Blogging may have subsided to video channels and podcasts but it’s making a bit of a comeback. One of our founding editors, Meagan Hendrickson recently relaunched her blog Coffin Kitsch after a couple year hiatus. As she noted, “I think YouTube, Instagram, and podcasts sorta ‘killed’ blogging a few years ago. I know I switched my efforts more to the instant gratification that Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube gives.” But there is something about blogging. And there is a trend in general to revisit some formats of the past. 2020 in particular being a time to reassess.

Meagan continued, “I think there is something special about blogging that the other social media doesn’t quite have, so perhaps returning to blogging is going to happen, as, I feel, it is more personal. Blogging allows a person to have a small piece of the internet to let their thoughts, feels come alive and it often affords for more interaction with readers. I have found that a lot of younger alternative style Instagrammers have a blog as well, so I think there is hope for more blogs!”
