This past Halloween in Philadelphia the 30th anniversary of Stabbing Westward was celebrated, as the band played one of two special reunion shows for 2016 (the second, being earlier in Chicago), at The Trocadero Theatre, as part of the line-up for the 68th Dracula’s Ball, produced by Dancing Ferret Concerts. The Dracula’s Ball has been an on-going event series in Philadelphia for many years now, a staple in the city of Philadelphia’s goth/industrial scene, known for throwing fantastic parties with great bands performing throughout the night. The vision of Patrick Rodgers, the creator of the event, was to, “never book two bands that sound alike.” This Halloween event featured Stabbing Westward and Ashagal, Stabbing Westward known for their industrial rock beats and intense vocals and Ashagal for their the medieval folk musical stylings. Attendees drove and flew in from all-over, selling out the show come the weekend before the show.
