Lindsey Stirling brought her Brave Enough Tour and her energy to the City That Never Sleeps on October 21st. Bringing the audience to thunderous applause and cheers, she performed at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, located inside the Manhattan Center Studios. Lindsey Stirling’s concerts have been described as a mixture of classical, pop, and dubstep fused with dancing ranging from hip hop to latin styles. Creating an always energetic show, the dancing violinist moved across the stage, almost always at a frenetic pace. The show was nearly sold-out, as the audience packed the main floor and the two balconies. Not bad for someone who was told they would never succeed and her musical/dance combo was ridiculous during the fifth season of America’s Got Talent. Judge Sharon Osbourne told her, “What you’re doing is not enough to fill a theater in Vegas.”
She continues to maintain her YouTube, LindseyStirling (formerly LindseyStomp), where she developed a strong following, currently with over 8.5 million subscribers. She also maintains the YouTube channel, LindseyTime, which contains behind the scenes videos, as well as vlogs. Stirling’s first album, self-titled, Lindsey Stirling, landed the number two spot on Billboard’s Classical List in 2013, and in 2015, her second album, Shatter Me, won the Billboard Music Award’s Top Dance/Electronica Album category, as well as landed the number two spot on the Billboard 200 List in 2014. In 2015, she was also listed among Forbes’ 30 Under 30 In Music. So hey, maybe sometimes it pays to fail by staying true to yourself, as Stirling has said, “The only reason I’m successful is because I have stayed true to myself.”
Lindsey Stirling’s Brave Enough Tour continues through North America and Europe into April 2017.
