Killstar, the quickly rising alternative clothing and lifestyle brand with roots in the United Kingdom and the United States has teamed up with goth icon Marilyn Manson to bring you a collection that is a first of its kind. The line features a wide range of pieces from bodysuits to knitwear adorned with Manson’s own symbology and logos.
The Killstar and Manson match brings fashion and music together perfectly. The entire Killstar team have been avid Manson fans since the very beginning, and the collaboration is fulfilling many dreams and goals within the brand. Tequila-Rose from Killstar goes on, “getting to explore the darker side of fashion, whilst injecting the Manson attitude and philosophy, was a real dream come true. Manson has been such a massive inspiration to myself, and, hopefully without sounding to ‘corny’, this is what us goth girls live and die for! It’s taken two years to make this into reality, and we are all super happy with the result.”
The Killstar Manson collection features a wide range of pieces but it is clear attention was paid to each piece and nothing gets too repetitive. It’s band merchandise taken to another level. Instead of a baggy T-shirt you can get items that you can truly incorporate into your wardrobe and show off.
Keeping to a simple color palette of black and white with a splash of red was a good choice. The collection is cohesive and bold. It probably was a given from the start as Killstar generally keeps to the same color palette and the imagery around Manson’s music has always been striking and carefully considered.
Some highlights include the Antichrist Superstar Knit Sweater and the Not a Doll Collar Dress. Both are pieces that could become staples and go well beyond novelty.
With the Eat the Bitch Bodysuit and the Spell Master Suspender Dress you can literally wear Marilyn Manson’s face. Fitting since Manson’s likeness has pretty much become a symbol in of its self. Next year’s goth beach day suit has been found!
The Sugar Sick Mesh Crop Top is the most now piece in the collection. All its elements really capture where nu goth fashion is at right now.
The Use Your Fist Hockey Team Dress and the Ka-Boom Ka-Boom Hockey Jersey are full on health goth. Manson plus Killstar plus jersey plus black and white like Adidas, can’t get much more fitting for the trend than that. All together an impressive collection that will leave everyone hopeful for more collaborations to come.
