Hey men, it’s getting warmer. Do you need some help with what to wear as it gets warmer? Well let me tell you. It’s all about printed shirts. I myself like tees and tanks, with cool art. Trevor Nicholls is the artist behind every art piece, shirt, skateboard, and shoe under the Monster Aesthetic brand. He’s a young one, in his early 20s hes making a name for himself as the guy who has you covered if you want something wicked and awesome. Trevor’s work can be found in various shop in Canada and the US, as well as on his site. Monster Aesthetics’s will also be touring with Warped Tour, so if you are going, you may be able to meet up in person to buy his wares. One of my personal favorite pieces is the Grey Goat Tank. All of the pieces are unisex, mind you I am thinking of the guys out there. It’s comfy, soft cotton with a dark black original goat head design printed with durability in mind. It pairs well with everything, so go take a look, and remember what Trevor teaches us; believe in the monster.
The Grey Goat Tank by Monster Aesthetics is available online for $25 at www.monsteraesthetics.com.

There is something about a man in a great shoe. When you think Dr. Martens you may think punk, grunge, and all around epicness. But do you think of Doc’s for dressing a little more polished? Men take note, the Doctor has been working on so many unique and stylish shoes to give you options besides a basic black. One of my favorite shoes I’ve seen for men is from the Core Collection: the 3989 men’s dress shoe. I could see this paired with straight dark jeans and printed tee, leather jacket, or a suit and tie. It’s such a classic shoe with its black and white Brogue style, that you could definitely mix and match it with a variety of looks. But whatever you pair these with, you’ll be adding a touch of the grown up.

I don’t know about everyone out there, but I believe bowties are cool. And this one tops my list on the cool factor, with its mix of square and circular studs and five-inch tall spikes on a black background. Made by a duo of designers, two siblings, Poco and Chase are the masterminds behind Vile Broccoli Fur’s amazing spiked creations. This particular bowtie is handmade therefore each will be slightly different, which is something I value in handmade creations because each one is unique. Vile Broccoli Fur is based out of Las Vegas, NV and can be found on Facebook, Twitter, and Etsy.
The Spiked and Studded Bowtie is available online for $50 at www.vilebroccolifur.etsy.com.

A good way to liven up your casual wardrobe is with a few stylish t-shirts. This v-neck t-shirt by Nervosa Clothing is unique and eye-catching. Nervosa Clothing is a newly launched t-shirt company with the goal of erasing the social stigmas of mental disorders and to show the seemingly unrecognizable positive side to mental illness. So you get a great t-shirt and you get to help their cause as $1 from every item purchased is donated to mental health programs across Canada.
The Severed Head Vneck Men’s Tshirt is available online for $34.50 at www.nervosaclothing.com.

Kane & Unke’s 40S Military Jacket

One of my favorite fashion stylings for men is the military aesthetic and the 40S Military Jacket by Kane & Unke is a great example. Metropark has the exclusive on Kane & Unke’s contemporary collection, in other words, you have to go to Metropark to get this jacket! My favorite parts of the design are the funnel collar and the multi pocket details which really gives the militaristic construction a contemporary feel. Throw out that military surplus jacket and slip this baby on with some pinstriped trousers and a pair of Beatle boots for a night on the town.
The 40S Military Jacket is available online at www.metroparkusa.com.

Folter Clothing’s Sado Workshirt

There are a lot of cheesy workshirts out there for guys with patches that have on them “666”, “Evil”, or some random guy’s name. Check out this Sado Workshirt by Folter Clothing and get a thumbs up in the non-cheese department! I am really in love with the dominatrix’s faces, giving the graphic a whimsical feel to an otherwise normal sexual depiction. I think few people know about Folter Clothing, yet you may have possibly spotted this brand at Hot Topic. If you weed through the terrible stripper-esque fashions there are a hand-full of super sweet duds on Folter’s website! Check it out!
