Since the nineteenth century, the reversed or upside-down pentagram has been a symbol of dark magic. Influential occult writer Eliphas Levi described it as depicting, “the goat of lust attacking the heavens with its horns.” But never before have I seen it incorporated as sexily and freshly in a garment as it is in The Pentagram Suit II. The swimsuit, part of Chromat’s SS13 collection, Riot Box, is the second version of Becca McCharen’s striking design. Last year’s black and white style was out of stock in a flash. Expect the sophisticated all-black run to be embraced by those looking to get away with wearing a fetish statement piece poolside.
The Pentagram Suit II is available online for $312 through Chromat’s website www.shop.chromatgarments.com and for $278 on Nasty Gal www.nastygal.com.

I walked into Lush for the first time, and to be sure it was a little overwhelming. The first thing you notice will be the smells that attack your nasal passages. The second will probably be the feast of epic colors and shapes and the shear amount of products for your eyes. Once you adjust to that, you can explore. And you can be sure the friendly staff will say hello. In fact I haven’t had better service for quite some time while shopping. Now they have a lot of cool stuff at Lush, but I want to rave about the Bath Bombs. Okay, so the big seller is Big Blue. I didn’t grab it, but the lady was telling me how it turns your bath into a blue sea soak and I kind of like the idea of something other then my hair turning my bath different colors. The three Bath Bombs I grabbed were Golden Slumbers, Twilight, and Sex Bomb. The first two are very relaxing. Golden Slumbers is a lavender based bomb that is supposed to help put you at ease and sleep. I found it very relaxing and definitely was a comforting treat after a long day of work. Twilight is also a lavender infused bomb mixed with ylang ylang. When it hits the warm water it swirls pink and purple leaving you in a luxurious spa like environment in your own bathroom. I haven’t tried the Sex Bomb yet, but it smells so good I look forward to the night I do. There are Bath Bombs to detoxify, condition your skin, wake up your senses, and basically keep you in bath heaven for months. If you are like me and do enjoy a good bath, I highly recommend the Bath Bombs, and hey there is definitely a scent for everyone.
Bath Bombs in all there variety are available for $3.95 to $6.95 at Lush stores worldwide and online at www.lushusa.com.

I’ve gone a little batty for bats, well bat pegs at least. And who wouldn’t want to clip these babies onto stuff around the house? Who knew how helpful those crazy little flyers could be! Have em hold up your linens in the open air, or you could let the bats fly off your wall in a display of photos and wire. Creep out your friends with the bats lurking in dark cupboards or holding down your chip and cereal bags. You could one would assume even use them like ordinary clothes pegs. SuckUK is selling these individually, a quick Google search finds a few sets of them so you can create a swarm of bats even faster. Bats are not only great for keeping insects at bay, but will now help you around the house keeping things fresh and linens dry!
These Spooky Bat Pegs by SuckUK are available for £2.00 per peg online at www.suck.uk.com.

We featured the Lo Res Pump in our April/May 2011 Issue and still love them just as much as we did then! This season they are out in new lust-worthy colors: blue lavender and aqua. Embrace pastels because they can pair perfectly with black (or black and white, gray, other pastels, jewel tones) while being a bold statement and fashion forward. The Lo Res Pump is part of United Nude’s digital design revolution, cut from rubber with computer aided design to have many smooth facets like a gem stone. These shoes have a removable strap and leather foot bed for comfort and ease of wearing. Multifaceted, they can be futuristic, cyber, retro, witchy, Victorian, lolita, or just plain sophisticated and fashionable. Pair with latex (like we did in our April/May 2011 Issue) or just about any material.
The Lo Res Pump by United Nude is available online for $200 at www.unitednude.com.

Hey men, it’s getting warmer. Do you need some help with what to wear as it gets warmer? Well let me tell you. It’s all about printed shirts. I myself like tees and tanks, with cool art. Trevor Nicholls is the artist behind every art piece, shirt, skateboard, and shoe under the Monster Aesthetic brand. He’s a young one, in his early 20s hes making a name for himself as the guy who has you covered if you want something wicked and awesome. Trevor’s work can be found in various shop in Canada and the US, as well as on his site. Monster Aesthetics’s will also be touring with Warped Tour, so if you are going, you may be able to meet up in person to buy his wares. One of my personal favorite pieces is the Grey Goat Tank. All of the pieces are unisex, mind you I am thinking of the guys out there. It’s comfy, soft cotton with a dark black original goat head design printed with durability in mind. It pairs well with everything, so go take a look, and remember what Trevor teaches us; believe in the monster.
The Grey Goat Tank by Monster Aesthetics is available online for $25 at www.monsteraesthetics.com.

There is something about a man in a great shoe. When you think Dr. Martens you may think punk, grunge, and all around epicness. But do you think of Doc’s for dressing a little more polished? Men take note, the Doctor has been working on so many unique and stylish shoes to give you options besides a basic black. One of my favorite shoes I’ve seen for men is from the Core Collection: the 3989 men’s dress shoe. I could see this paired with straight dark jeans and printed tee, leather jacket, or a suit and tie. It’s such a classic shoe with its black and white Brogue style, that you could definitely mix and match it with a variety of looks. But whatever you pair these with, you’ll be adding a touch of the grown up.

This season will have a few experimental color choices to play with, but one look that never dies is the red lip. Now personally I am more of a gloss girl myself, so when I got to try the super pigmented Carousel Gloss by Lime Crime I was ecstatic. Finally a lip gloss with some staying power! Carousel Gloss comes in a variety of shades but my top three choices currently are Candy Apple, Present, and Cherry On Top. And let’s not forget the cruelty free pledge, that’s right, they are cruelty free and most of the products are vegan too! Candy Apple is a deep red, it’s perfect for pairing with a form-fitting black dress for that date night you’ve been planning. The creamy berry coloring of Present is a shade that reminds me of my lace and velvet pieces, paired with some web stockings and an ankh necklace. Oh so goth. And last but not least is Cherry on Top, because damn it sometimes you just want to wear your favorite band tees and ripped jeans, or maybe go the pin up route and pair with a vintage print bikini and bandana. Whatever your style preference Lime Crime has you covered.
Carousel Gloss by Lime Crime is available online for $16.99 at www.limecrimemakeup.com.

I have a passion for things made with care, found things, and just a different way of thinking. Victoria Ronco and Dave Kelly are the designers behind the label Divina Denuevo. These two are creating handcrafted leather goods as a team, and put a lot of care and thought into the products they make. The Ayre Leather Messenger Bag is an example of the style and work they do. The bag has so much versatility in its simple envelope style design. It features a slim body, a hidden back pocket, and a vintage skeleton key which is unique to each bag made. Victoria and Dave work hard to make sure their impact on this planet is for the better, buying second hand, using cast offs, and up-cycling old treasures giving them new life. Every handcrafted accessory carries with it a piece of the past and its own imperfections, which tend to make them perfect in their own right.
The Ayre Leather Messenger Bag by Divina Denuevo is available online for $140 at www.divina-denuevo.com.

This black ceramic and stainless steel unisex double ring is a simple and striking statement piece. I’m digging the clean minimal lines and smooth finishes. Made in Canada by designer Shane Vitaly Foran, who is designing for the “iPod generation”. Shane is making a major splash in the fashion scene, while still maintaining a look that crosses many genres. It’s not going to be for everyone, but some of you are really going to dig the pieces being produced from Vitaly Design. So do yourselves a favor and go check it out.

It’s the month of love and I can safely say I’m in love with the Minnie Top. House of Etiquette is really becoming a house hold name in quality latex. They are definitely on the forefront of designers that are bringing latex out of the fetish scene and making pieces that you can mix into your everyday wardrobe. With its high collar, slightly puffed sleeves, peplum detailing, mix of vintage and modern, and let’s not forget the easy access zipper; the Minnie Top is a great piece. House of Etiquette offers this gem of a top in a multitude of colors from mint to plum to transparent purple! This top is such a classic style and definitely a latex fashionista must. And if you are new to latex, why not start with a piece that can be dressed up or down? Go ahead, add a little shine to your style!
The Minnie Top by House of Etiquette is available online for $270 at www.houseofetiquette.com.
