The fabulous Apnea recently did a gorgeous ballerina-esque set with Samantha Plasencia designs. The San Antonio, Texas designer can be found on Model Mayhem with her profile showing her cutting edge designs from organza dresses to foil print tops and paper origami skirts. Plascenia has been featured in Alt Noir magazine, eXposure online, and has been featured in fashion shows including 2009 MINK Fashion Show. I would love to see more from this avant garde designer who looks like she’s gripped at the pulse of fashion forward designs. Check out her profile and drool over these fabulous photos.

I enjoy the overall styling of this outfit, it’s well thought out and not the norm for what you would usually expect in a photo set such as this. Firstly, the color of the dress is a standout. I’m so glad that lighter colors are starting to enter back into the palettes of more designers, creams and champagne hues work very well with dresses like this. It does have an almost ballet inspired style, which works very well, both in cut and fit, as well as allowing Apnea’s body art to show. It’s also a versatile piece, one that could be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. And the shoes are well suited to the overall look as well. I’m very glad that they went with a choice like these shoes for the set, as I’m getting quite tired of seeing the same three pairs on Demonia shoes on half the models out there. This set should provide some inspiration as we enter warmer months and people can venture to show a little more skin while keeping it classy.
