New York NY, March 31 – Faderhead has kick started their new album The World of Faderhead which was released March 30th, 2012 with a tour that started on March 20th and ended April 3rd. The band is somewhat new to the music scene only having about six years under their belt but has already made their name with five albums not including their new one. Faderhead has had club hits such as “TZDV” ( from album FH3) and Dirtygrrrls/Dirtybois (from album FH2), which are still playing in clubs today.

While playing at Cybertron in New York City on March 31st put on by Vampire Freaks, Faderhead played their club hits along with some new songs. They also covered Justin Timberlake’s “Sexy Back”. The crowd was pumped up as Faderhead jumped on stage to their electro stompy music. The band is very connected getting low on stage to become face to face with fans.

As for the whole night it was a blast and was full of people. Once again Jet Berelson owner of Vampire Freaks has put on an amazing event and has many more to come!

Toronto ON, April 24-28 - |FAT| or Toronto Arts & Fashion Week is just around the corner!  This is an event not to miss, many of Toronto’s best alternative fashion designers are showing their latest collections. It is a chance to see some of the best alternative fashion in a full production runway show. In addition to runway shows, there are performances, photography exhibits, and videos on display.

Some of the alternative fashion designers showing this year are Asphyxia, Victory & Vice, House of Etiquette, Cinched Tight Corsets, Starkers Corsetry, Pippa Latex, Artifice Clothing, and Dystropolis.

This year |FAT| comes to life at a new location, a former industrial warehouse located at 213 Sterling Road, Toronto’s new up‐and‐coming arts and design district. The 2012 theme is fashionSCAPES and it mirrors the concept of landscapes: unique, seasonal, and ever changing. Each night a different sub‐theme will be explored around the ideas of land, city, body and future.

Advance tickets are $30 for a day pass and $75 for a week pass. One day passes are available at the door for $35. Auxiliary Magazine will be attending |FAT| this year as we have the past few years. Look out for coverage of the event on our website and in the next issue!

New York NY, February 18 - Emilie Autumn is back, and she’s fighting back like a girl! On February 18th, Emilie Autumn returned to The Gramercy Theatre on her Fight Like A Girl tour, affectionally called F.L.A.G., to promote her upcoming album. Joining her were the Blessed Contessa, Naughty Veronica Varlow, Captain Maggot, and the legions of fans, affectionately called Muffins and Plague-Rats. If you’ve never been to an Emilie Autumn performance, then you are in for a treat. Each show blends burlesque performances with vaudeville musical/dance numbers in a scripted show, full of energy and excitement as the girls sing, dance, and gyrate on stage. These ladies want you to know they are women, now hear them roar. It’s time for society to play by their rules, and as some guys once said (named after a “sister”), “We’re not gonna take it anymore!”

Buffalo NY, November 18 – In November Buffalo’s Mass Appeal 2011 took place, a unique local fashion event and runway show produced by Erin Habes and the Elmwood Village Association, featuring many designers and boutiques including Once Vintage and Made by Anatomy. Once Vintage is a Buffalo based fashion company founded by Auxiliary contributor Molly Hoeltke, featuring a carefully curated collection of one-of-a-kind vintage pieces as well as hand-made updated vintage re-constructions. Made by Anatomy is a Buffalo based fashion brand designed by Ali Eagen. Both have been featured in Auxiliary Magazine!

New York NY, October 30 – Pysclon Nine, the beloved aggrotech band,  has made a huge come back. From taking almost a year-long break to jumping on the stage at Gramercy Theater in New York City and showing fans they are still alive. The rumors may be true about why they stopped playing music, but it all doesn’t matter now, Nero Bellum has proven that he will not stop! The venue was packed full of screaming fans as Pysclon Nine rocked out newer songs and old songs, like “We the Fallen” and “Parasitic”. Fans grabbed Nero and pulled him close just to feel his presence once more.

On stage along with Nero was Rotny Ford, another original member of Psyclon Nine, Pan (Keyboards) who joined the band for just this one show, and two new members of the band, Jared Warren (Bass) and Kylie Megaera (Drums). Nero has stated that Abbey Nex will still be in the band he was just unable to make this show.

When speaking with Nero I asked why now? He told me he has been writing a lot and not just music. He played guitar for Dismantled, a band out of L.A, and when they played here in New York City in July, Jet Berelson, foundered of Vampire Freaks, pulled Nero aside asking him to do a Halloween show.

The show was a success as well as the night itself. People dressed up for Halloween, there was a costume contest, and tons of candy everywhere! It was like being a kid trick or treating again! Will Psyclon Nine tour soon? It’s a secret Nero says, but the twinkle in his eyes says it’s coming.

We are approaching our 3 year anniversary!  On Friday, December 9th, join us in celebrating three years of Auxiliary Magazine! The party is at Club Diablo in Buffalo NY and it will be a night full of fashion and music!  There will be a Cats Like Us, the Buffalo based retro clothing boutique, fashion show and music will be provided by Edwin Somnambulist of Industrial Strength Nightmares Radio and the monthly Toronto event Neurodance, plus Aaron Andrews (regular Auxiliary Magazine music contributor), Jason Draper (Auxiliary Magazine contributor), and Darago (Auxiliary Magazine music editor Mike Kieffer).
