in attendance : Faderhead at Cybertron

Monday, April 30th, 2012

New York NY, March 31Faderhead has kick started their new album The World of Faderhead which was released March 30th, 2012 with a tour that started on March 20th and ended April 3rd. The band is somewhat new to the music scene only having about six years under their belt but has already made their name with five albums not including their new one. Faderhead has had club hits such as “TZDV” ( from album FH3) and Dirtygrrrls/Dirtybois (from album FH2), which are still playing in clubs today.

While playing at Cybertron in New York City on March 31st put on by Vampire Freaks, Faderhead played their club hits along with some new songs. They also covered Justin Timberlake’s “Sexy Back”. The crowd was pumped up as Faderhead jumped on stage to their electro stompy music. The band is very connected getting low on stage to become face to face with fans.

As for the whole night it was a blast and was full of people. Once again Jet Berelson owner of Vampire Freaks has put on an amazing event and has many more to come!

runway : Bibian Blue fall/winter 2012/13

Tuesday, April 17th, 2012

Bibian Blue’s fall/winter 2012/13 collection was shown at Valencia fashion week. I am happy to see that Bibian Blue has been designing more than just corsets but rather entire elegant ensembles. Every collection seems to go a step further in that direction. In this collection the corset remains the backbone of the outfit but it is not always the focal point.

paris fashion week : Gareth Pugh fall 2012

Monday, April 16th, 2012

Gareth Pugh’s fall 2012 collection shown at Paris Fashion Week had a noticeable depth to it. There are so many elements combining in this collection that I enjoy. Pointed shoulders, restrictive elements, belted coats creating vague crosses, exquisite textures, cloak like dresses, fitted stretch dresses reminiscent of Kitchen Orange, and boot encasing tied leg coverings! This collection blends the elements of darkness and occult that have been trending and catching my attention with the futuristic cyber elements that have long been the backbone of my style tastes. It’s the best of both worlds!

london fashion week : McQ fall 2012

Saturday, April 14th, 2012

Shown for the first time on the runway at London Fashion Week, the McQ fall 2012 collection, a more accessible brand from Alexander McQueen was beautiful and well put together. I am always interested in lower price point lines as they are often more attainable and practical. This collection didn’t compromise and kept true to McQueen’s style.

music video : Squarepusher – Dark Steerling

Thursday, April 12th, 2012

Perhaps my most anticipated upcoming release for May is Squarepusher’s Ufabulum due out on May 14th /15th (depending on where you live). Squarepusher completely fell off my radar for a few years and now I have been digging back into his vast discography and re-falling in love. Anyways… check out the new track “Dark Steerling” from the forthcoming album!
